About the story

Kanchi breaks things. Puram plans things. For six years Ananya "Kanchi" Roy, a former archaeologist thrown off a government dig, and Purav "Puram" Sharma, an engineer who writes every plan three times, have stolen old objects from people who shouldn't own them. Then a job in a Gurgaon tower hands them a dial with 108 notches and no writing on it. When one of them holds it, every clock in the room stops. When both do, they wake in a dark forest where Kanchipuram will one day stand. They have landed in 3102 BCE, in the last weeks before the Kali Yuga, and the vaults they will one day break into have not been built yet. Someone has to build them. It turns out to be them. The old world ends quietly. In Dwaraka, pots crack by themselves, rats sit in the sun at noon, crows cry inside houses, and the old king bans wine weeks before a festival on the shore at Prabhasa. A warlord whose weapons no longer answer him wants Puram's torch and drone, because they work for anyone. A billionaire in 2026 wants the dial for the same reason. And every jump costs Kanchi one word she didn't know she would need. Kanchipuram: A Love Tale Between Yugas is a free time-travel romance serial set in Kanchipuram, India, by Kyra Dhillon on Scroll by Sky Scrawl.
